BIOKIP presents “BEAUTIFUL BOXES”, the first exhibition of the trilogy, that foreshadow to BLOOP the international festival of contemporary art and culture that this summer will overrun the entire island of Ibiza.

BEAUTIFUL BOXES: a taunt, a consideration on appearance, theme of the festival.
In the contemporary world there is a clear imbalance of values between container and content. Containers – beautiful boxes – are they just empty boxes? The will to reach
aesthetic models and behavior deemed successful and “cool” often breeds alienating lifestyles.

In Milan, from 13th to 19th March, at Spazio Via Dante 14, the artists Emilio Cejalvo and Robo, the sculptress Emmanuelle Pacini, the sound designer Digital Genetic Pasta and the video artist Lo Spino are called to offer their interpretation of this concept . Works, sounds and performances will encourage the audience to pierce the veil of Maya, offering its own interpretation of reality through the artistic experience.

The works showed in Milan as part of BEAUTIFUL BOXES are therefore part of the exhibits of the Ibiza BLOOP festival.

BEAUTIFUL BOXES is promoted by BIOKIP, in cooperation with A.M.I.C.I association, and is sponsored by the Council of Ibiza, from the Ibiza Tourist Office and the San Antoni de Portmany Town Council.

BLOOP
Synonymous with proactive art, or rather art to live and experience for a personal enrichment.
BLOOP come back to Ibiza from 15th June to 15th August 2012 after the success of the 2011 zero edition.
Designed and curate by Biokip, the festival has been greeted enthusiastically by the Catalan island Administration that for the next edition has already given many beautiful natural and city areas. Key point is “Faro de ses coves Blanque”, the island headquarter. From here the art spreads and expands throughout the country, involving, enlivening and transforming it. Lights and colors draw a new Ibiza.
Theme: “the appearance”. No longer normal code of everyday phenomenology, it will be analyzed by the artists attending the festival in its contemporary sense, as synonymous with striving for aesthetic and behavioral models considered successful, or “cool”, but that tend to distance us from our way to be, forcing us to an imposed membership by different models. A topic more relevant than ever, handled in a place hallowed to fun as Ibiza is, where, among the most unbridled entertainment and fun, even the most superficial and aberrant forms of the appearance itself are invested by a transfiguring force, that of art, which raises questions and provokes reactions within an aesthetic and unique experience, never banal and always alive.

We know, we know, we’ve been away for a bit, with Bloop we’ve been very busy, check the festival site if you’re curious… anyway, here we are again! And we’re happy to invite you in the first Milan party featuring our dear Digital Genetic Pasta , back from his crazy nights in Ibiza. Sat 17 September you’ll see a new club in town, the Pitch, where we’ll be every Saturday with our Bomber party, and you’re all welcome to the opening party! Yep, DGP will be the resident dj at Bomber, which will also weekly host friends and guests behind Pitch consolle, only to hit you with the best electro, breakbeat and nu funk club-bangers… be there!

Here’s one of the first shoots we’re taking at our zero edition of the Bloop Festival in Ibiza… in the photo, a detail of the huge wallpainting our guests from Ucraine, Interesni Kazki, are banging on the wall in front of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, in Sant Antoni de Portmany area of the isle.

At its zero edition, Bloop is a contemporary’n street-art festival taking place in magic Ibiza isle, from 1st to 15th august, free entry obviously. The event will be  hosted in the Bloop’s headquarter, the “Far de ses Coves Blanques – Centre d’Interpretació de la Mar” (which is Sant Antoni de Portmani area’s lighthouse) as well as in several outdoor spots, where artists from half world will exhibit their works inspired by the festival’s themes: the sea and the legends populating the deep… want to know more? We’re talking about the third official release from Biokip Records (and obviously, always thanks to Irma Records), which has a really personal electro sound and is titled “God bless the leggings”… all you guys out there can easily imagine why!

Today for us is such a special day, ’cause it’s our Biokip “Jacked” Hoodies 6th birthday. Yep, time runs and it’s since 2005 that we’ve been producing (always with cut & sew manufucture and limited edition, strictly made in Italy) those hoodies, one of our most loved products… Six years ago, we had the idea of putting audio rca jack insets in the hood’s strings and it worked, everyone who saw ‘em went crazy and we run out of hoodies every time we created a new collection. Right, thanks to everyone who bought one of those hoodies, you’re wearing a piece of our history so… take care of it and celebrate its birthday, but don’t overact, it’s only six!

Ok, as many should think, this is not a “garbage tv program” news, we don’t want to use other people’s pain to get higher visibility or something… it’s just, we’ve been in Japan in occasion of Digital Genetic Pasta’s “Geisha Tour” and we had the possibility to see how open-minded and friendly japanese can be, that’s why we want to express all our solidarity and sympathy, since we’re sure that Japan will rise again.

That’s  the mood of the next BIOKIP PARTY feat DIGITAL GENETIC PASTA

After last year’s crazy edition, we’ll glad to invite you all to our Women’s (and would be) day party, March the 8th @ Toilet Club, via L. il Moro 171 Milan, from 22,30 pm till 4,00 am (entry is 4 euro, with a chupito included, and don’t forget your A.R.C.I. card)!
So ladies, and would be ladies, prepare to fight for your right to party, this one is all yours chicks… Digital Genetic Pasta from Biokip Records and friends will shock the dancefloor with the sexiest electro-funk beats ever, you’ll only have to come party hard and be beautiful… actually, this is the best occasion to do it!

Even if we don’t watch so much TV, there’s always some exception that proves the rule… the best example in these days is Misfits, an english dark-comic serie we’re already addicted to. The story’s all about a group of teens, while they’re “busy” in their community service,  they get caught in a mysterious storm that gives ‘em superpowers. Wait, it’s not the usual Smallville like serie, Misfits’s full of dark humour, sharp dialogues and brilliantly studied characters; everything is fresh and up-to-date, starting from the soundtrack, through the costumes, to the problems-situations the guys will get involved in. A small advice to our italian readers, watch the serie in english if you don’t want it to lose some of its very personal energy, and wait with us until Misfits’ 3rd season will be available.

A week ago in Arcore, the city near Milan where prime minister Silvio Berlusconi lives, took place a protest against italian premier, who’s involved, this time, in a “still not proved” pedo-sex/juvenile-prostitution scandal.
Actually the thing was nothing big, with a few people demonstrating in the streets, in front of the police, until the first small struggles… then two guys got arrested and game over. But when the TV showed the video of these two guys being set free (there was no reason for their arrest) the fact one of them was wearing our Biokip Tag Hoody represented his clear innocence’s evidence… how a Biokip fan could even think to annoy our poor, poor, Silvio, who’s always in a hurry working honestly and liberally for all us? Keep it on Papy, respect!
